Sources Consulted
As stated elsewhere, I do
not claim any credentials other than Christ. If someone with
insight and scholarship beyond my own would have substantial
contributions to my study, I would warmly welcome it. Seeking
such persons is largely the purpose of this site.
It should be recognized
that Biblical study is at least equal parts scholarship and
revelation. The scholarship is what may be known according to
human mentality. The revelation is what the Holy Spirit teaches
according to the human spirit. Revelation that has no foundation
in the Word is likely false. Likewise, scholarship without the
light of the Spirit is mere vanity. The Bible is, at bottom, a
spiritual book written in human words. Only when the human and
the divine are matched and mixed can one apprehend the Holy Word
of God.

NEW! The Dead
Sea Scrolls Bible: The Oldest Known Bible Translated for the First
Time into English
Martin G. Abegg Peter Flint Eugene
Charles Ulrich
Three eminent Biblical scholars have translated previously unpublished
Biblical manuscripts for inclusion into this book which contains all 220 of
the Dead Sea Scrolls, with hundreds of new and different readings from the
Old Testament. Includes clear, concise commentary.
From The Publisher
"From the dramatic find in the caves of Qumran, The Dead Sea Scrolls
Bible presents the world's most precious and ancient version of the Bible.
One thousand years older than any existing manuscripts, these scrolls allow
us to read the Bible as it was in the time of Jesus. Preserving parts
of all but one biblical book, the scrolls confirm that the text of the Old
Testament as it has been handed down through the ages is largely correct.
Yet, they also reveal numerous important differences. The Dead Sea Scrolls
Bible offers new and striking textual readings that clarify millennia-old
puzzles; restores lost psalms; reveals previously unknown details about the
lives of biblical figures; and provides new information on how the Hebrew
Bible was created."--BOOK JACKET.
